This is my first book from this author and it won't be the last. The story had a lot of sweet, sad, and sexy in equal measures and I am happy to give it a solid 4 stars. My only complaint, and the reason why it's not a 5 star rating is the first person narrative. I don't usually care whether it's first or third person, and to be honest, it took me a good long while and a few dozen reviews of other books later to even start noticing whether a book had first or third person narration. However, the first person combined with the choppy transitions of months at a time made me feel somewhat disconnected from the characters. I felt that there were moments that needed a few more pages to give them the weight they deserved, yet they were almost glossed over as when someone writes in their diary and only mentions the highlights of what they felt during hard emotional times. Other than that, it was a lovely read.
